Hotel description and useful information for travellers

Cleanliness

Generally reported as very clean in multiple reviews (fresh towels, 'super clean'), with a few mentions of basic/older rooms but overall above-standard cleanliness.

Service

Mixed feedback: several reviewers praise friendly staff and a helpful manager, but others report poor customer service (unanswered requests, slow responses) and issues with requests not being handled.

Location

Strongly positive across reviews — excellent Upper West Side location, very close to Central Park and conveniently near shops and restaurants.

Room Quality

Multiple complaints about room size/description mismatch, noisy rooms (fire station), low shower pressure, aging equipment and occasional power issues — room quality is noticeably weaker.

Amenities

Good public spaces (lobby, cafe, on-site Serafina) and convenient nearby services (CVS, hair salon). Some missing in-room amenities noted (no fridge, missing amenity kit).

Value for Money

Mixed-to-negative: some find the price fair for NYC, but several reviewers cite misleading room descriptions, high rates for smaller rooms, and an unresolved large deposit issue — value is a concern for many guests.

Custom Artwork and Vintage Charm in Lobby:

Step into a bygone era at Arthouse Hotel, where custom artwork, an original fireplace, and a 1920’s elevator system welcome you in the lobby, setting the tone for a unique and memorable stay.

Luxurious Rooms and Amenities:

Indulge in comfort and convenience in our rooms and suites, equipped with flat-screen TVs, desks, and in-room safes. Some units even boast private balconies, offering a special touch to your Upper West Side experience.
